Alexandra Oliver was a force in and for the arts in Pittsburgh, bursting with ideas and enthusiasms.

When she began her own blog, with the humble title of “a Pittsburgh art blog,” she wrote: “Ultimately, my hope for this blog is that it provide a record, however imperfect, however partial, that someone made some art and that it mattered. Most artists working today will not enter the canon, but they all deserve a fighting chance. Without the visibility and feedback that art criticism provides, along with a committed cadre of collectors, galleries, archivists and curators, careers will be injured.” Our selections from her writing, in academia and across social media platforms prove that she followed her own advice, in the process adding to the record of art in Pittsburgh.
